Reciprocal Damage: Ukraine Strikes Russian Oil Platforms While Power Grid Attacks Continue

In a cycle of reciprocal damage, Ukraine strikes Russian oil platforms in the Caspian Sea while attacks on its own power grid continue. The V. Filanovsky, Yuri Korchagin, and Valery Grayfe platforms were hit, sustaining direct hits according to the General Staff. These Lukoil facilities are crucial for Russia’s oil exports. The strike is a response to Russia’s systematic destruction of Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

The platforms were targeted previously in December. The damage is being assessed. Lukoil has not commented. This strike aims to inflict economic pain on Russia similar to the humanitarian pain inflicted on Ukraine. It targets the revenue that funds the war.

In Luhansk, a Buk-M3 air defense system was destroyed. This tactical success weakens Russian air defenses. A warehouse in Kherson was also hit, disrupting logistics. These strikes degrade Russia’s military capabilities.

The energy war is intensifying. Russia hits Ukrainian power plants, causing blackouts. Ukraine hits Russian refineries and platforms. This strategy aims to wear down the opponent’s resilience.

Voronezh was hit by a drone attack, resulting in casualties. 17 drones were neutralized. This strike on Russian soil demonstrates Ukraine’s ability to strike back and disrupt life in Russian cities.
