Within North America, the film amassed $355 million, just shy of the record $357.1 million domestic debut by Avengers: Endgame. On the international front, the superhero film grossed $572 million across 66 countries. China was at the forefront of this overseas success, contributing $121 million, followed by significant earnings in the United Kingdom ($49 million), Mexico ($38.3 million), and South Korea ($25 million).
Several nations reported record-breaking opening weekends with Spider-Man: Brand New Day. India recorded its largest-ever opening for a Hollywood film, with $31.8 million. France added $26.6 million to the film’s total, Brazil brought in $23.8 million, and Spain accounted for $15.6 million.
The success of this Spider-Man installment surpasses that of its predecessor, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which debuted with $600 million globally, and Avengers: Infinity War, which opened with $640 million worldwide. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, this film is set four years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. It follows Peter Parker as he navigates life after the world forgets his identity, facing a new mysterious threat with the assistance of unexpected allies.
Alongside Tom Holland, the film features an ensemble cast including Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, and Mark Ruffalo. With its impressive box office performance, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has firmly established itself as a significant entry in the Marvel cinematic universe.
